In February, Amber Sharp and Wesley Rogers from Marque Lawyers facilitated a lunch time seminar on the hot topic of workplace bullying. In this session we looked particularly at the new Fair Work Commission’s anti-bullying legislation (which came into effect on 1 January 2014) and what this will mean for employees and employers alike.
Amber and Wesley discussed how employers can take steps to ensure that they are providing a healthy and safe work environment for all their employees. Marque Lawyers provided examples of Workplace Health & Safety and Workers Compensation claims which provided some interesting discussion points amongst the participants as well as highlighting the responsibility of employers to address bullying in the workplace.
