THE ROLE
As Remuneration and Reward Lead you will be accountable for supporting the consistent application of strategies, frameworks, tools and initiatives relating to performance, remuneration and benefits and ensure these are culturally and legislatively fit.
Manage the implementation of reward and remuneration strategies and contribute to the review and development of policies, frameworks and practices to improve employee attraction, motivation and retention and deliver HR and organisational strategies.
Coordinate the operations for remuneration review working with Performance and Planning to ensure accurate data and processing.
You will also help design and lead education programs to leaders and senior management on performance and remuneration and benefits issues.
You will support the business to meet all compliance and reporting requirements on performance and remuneration and benefits, capabilities:
- Be the key adviser on organisational remuneration and benefits and related performance issues.
- Lead the Job Architecture and Design process including the job evaluation process with a focus on governance and assurance to maintain roles in accordance with an agreed evaluation methodology.
- Lead strategic projects on remuneration, benefits and performance issues including on incentives and bonuses and on non-remuneration related benefits and rewards.
- Lead and advise on the organisation’s remuneration strategy for employees on individual contracts including liaising with legal and industrial relations staff to provide interpretation and counsel on reward policies, programs and practices.
- Take the lead to support and advise senior and executive management on Performance Management Framework and lead education on these issues.
- Play a key role in ensuring all communication, reporting and compliance obligations on performance and remuneration are met.
- Contribute to change programs as well as continuous improvement projects as required Compliance, Systems and Reporting
- Report on remuneration and benefits performance against strategic targets and recommendations for changes in remuneration and benefits approach.
- Advise on thought leadership, industry/competitor trends and regulatory actions on remuneration and benefits.
- Complete annual remuneration and benefits benchmarking to assess competitiveness and identify improvement opportunities; Also provide tactical remuneration analysis as required.
- Develop remuneration review process, frameworks and standards.
THE CRITERIA
- Experience designing and developing performance, remuneration and benefits management programs in complex environments, including in a government organisation.
- Knowledge or employment law, HR best practices in remuneration trends, frameworks and HRIS.
- Working knowledge of job evaluation methodology including job grading and banding including Mercer JCED.
- Extensive experience in writing business proposals, board papers and remuneration reports and managing projects.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to effectively build constructive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including through effective use of discretion, tact and influence.
